The new season of the University of Rijeka’s Unisport League has officially opened! First up was the table tennis tournament, which launched a season of sporting fellowship that will connect students from the University’s constituent faculties throughout the academic year. A large turnout, a great mood and a genuine sporting spirit set the tone for the start of the season and promised exciting months ahead.
What is the Unisport League?
The Unisport League is a university competition for all students who want to find time for sport alongside their faculty commitments, whether recreationally or competitively. They represent their faculties and departments on the field, which gives the competition extra intensity and creates a strong sense of togetherness with their own constituent institution.
The league runs for the entire academic year and includes a variety of sports, from team to individual ones. Its aim is to encourage students to be physically active on a regular basis, bring them together outside lecture halls and laboratories, and let them get to know peers from other faculties.
