The Unisport League is a sports program that has been running for 21 years and is organized by the Rijeka Academic Sports Association. It brings together students from all constituent units of the University of Rijeka. The aim of the project is to encourage students to engage in regular physical activity and promote a healthy lifestyle, an active way of life, and university sports as an important part of the student experience.
As part of the league, student sports clubs from higher education institutions in Rijeka compete in a wide variety of sports, both team and individual, including athletics, chess, table tennis, badminton, squash, padel, futsal, handball, cageball, cross-country running, basketball, 3×3 basketball, swimming, darts, tennis, volleyball, and beach volleyball.
Competitions are held at the local level, with the best athletes and teams receiving medals, cups, and perpetual trophies. Those who excel in local competitions have the opportunity to participate in national semi-finals and finals, where they represent their respective universities.
