The University of Rijeka Sports Centre (UNIRI Sport) has officially opened applications for the new season of the hugely popular Unisport recreational program for students. Activities are adapted to each participant’s individual fitness level, from advanced exercisers to complete beginners. The program covers a wide range of sports: volleyball, basketball, fitness, padel, pilates, bowling, and tennis, along with seasonal options such as hiking and a running school.

Workouts take place at various locations across the city. Pilates is held at the Sušak Sports and Recreation Centre, while fitness in the Campus gym runs in three one-hour groups between 6:30 and 9:30 PM. Recreational bowling takes place at the Mlaka Sports and Recreation Centre on Tuesdays, with a bowling coach and a limit of 20 participants. Padel training is held at the Start Fun sports centre in Čavle, and tennis at Žilavo Park on the Campus. UniRi Vital is a new form of activity we are offering to students. It is health-oriented physical exercise, that is, a planned and programmed form of recreation aimed at improving physical and mental health, without competitive pressure. It includes breathing exercises and general preparatory exercises for mobility, stretching, strengthening, and relaxation, and it is held in the Department building on the Campus.

All programs are led by experienced coaches with many years of experience in leading activities or a rich personal sports career. You can find the exact times of the activities at the link.
New registration system
A novelty this season is a simpler way to sign up for sports and recreational programs. A spot at the desired workouts is now secured through the new reservation system, available at rezervacije.unisport.hr.
Due to high demand, registration for pilates and the gym is done once for the entire year, while for other sports, such as volleyball, basketball, running, and padel, registration will be done per session. If the system recognizes that you attend workouts regularly, it will automatically assign you a permanent spot in the group. However, if you register to attend and fail to show up more than three times in an academic year, the system will block you from registering for that program.
Secure your spot in time, and see you at the workouts! Additional information is available at sport.uniri.hr or by email at sport@uniri.hr.
