The project was developed in collaboration with the Rijeka Academic Sports Association and Centre for Sport of the University of Rijeka to increase the number of recreational activities offered to both students and University staff as well as to citizens. This project consists of 4 sports events during the year to promote the importance of recreation among students and staff.
UNIRI Moves in Kastav – fall
A simple orienteering race where a compass is not required, and maps are provided by the organizer. The location is the beautiful Kastav Forest near Rijeka. Before each race, an educational workshop is organized on various topics (such as first aid in the mountains, mobility for blind and visually impaired persons, etc.).
On Sunday, October 19, 2025, the fifth edition of the “Uniri se giba” project will take place in Kastav — an orienteering race open to students, UNIRI staff, and all citizens, with no participation fee.
The start and finish are located in front of Loža, in the center of Kastav.
This year brings an exciting new feature — two routes:
- a recreational route (approx. 4–5 km) without time measurement, and
- a competitive route (approx. 12 km), where the winner is the participant who finds all checkpoints in the shortest possible time.
Registrations open on Monday, October 6, and the maximum number of participants is 150!
UNIRI Moves in Kostrena – summer
The summer version of this project includes a recreational tournament in water polo 3 vs 3, and stand-up paddling and kayaking workshops for which no experience or prior knowledge is required.
