This year’s UniSport HR national university athletics competition was held again, bringing together the best student athletes from across Croatia. The University of Rijeka competed in multiple disciplines in both the men’s and women’s categories and once again achieved excellent results, successfully representing the Rijeka university on the national stage.
The greatest success was achieved by Marin Vidas from the University of Rijeka (RITEH), who won first place in the 100-meter race and thus became the national university champion in the most exciting athletics discipline. An excellent result was also achieved by Josip Jurčić (RITEH), who took third place in the 3000-meter race.
In the team competition, the men’s 4×400-meter relay also delivered a successful performance, winning the bronze medal. The Rijeka relay team consisted of Val Martić (Physics), Josip Jurčić (RITEH), Bruno Marić (Mathematics), and Leon Babić (RITEH).
The competition took place in an excellent sporting atmosphere, and the students of the University of Rijeka once again demonstrated dedication to sport, team spirit, and the quality of university athletics. The achieved results confirm the continuous development of university athletics and the importance of investing in student sport and recreation.
